Did you know George Washington has two birthdays?
Because Britain and all of its colonies changed calendar systems in 1752, Washington’s birthday shifted from February 11 to February 22. Today, we commemorate the occasion as Presidents Day on the third Monday in February, and we do so in the most American way possible: With a weeklongsale event.
Presidents Day sales are known for especially good deals on home products, so when I polled my PEOPLE Shopping colleagues on the deals they’d be pouncing on, I wasn’t surprised when I saw small kitchen appliances, décor, cleaning tools, and not one, not two, but three kinds of pillows on the list.
