Shinji Mikami and David Perry speak up
Which is the better version,Aladdinon Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo? It’s a question that will never be resolved given the varying strengths and weaknesses of these distinct games and our personal preferences. One looks better, the other plays better. Speaking toPolygon, former Capcom designer Shinji Mikami added fuel to the fire:
“If I didn’t actually make [the SNES game], I would probably buy the Genesis one,” he told the outlet. “Animation-wise, I think the Genesis version’s better. The Genesis version had a sword, actually. I wanted to have a sword.”

But there’s more. Polygon also got a quote from David Perry, who worked on the Genesis version. “I’m really biased as we made the original game and got Disney to deliver the animation,” he said. “So I’d flip the quote, ‘If I didn’t actually make the Genesis version I’d probably buy the SNES one.'”
