Players won’t have to make much progress into theBaldur’s Gate 3campaign in order to get the Phalar Aluve. It’s still within the confines of Act One, albeit a little later into the proper order of events. It’s also quite easy to miss, so here’s a guide covering where and how to get this fancy sword.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Phalar Aluve Location

ThePhalar Aluveis a special sword located in the Underdark — specifically,near the Selunite Outpostin the upper tunnels. Players who descend to the Underdark from the Defiled Temple should have no trouble finding this weapon.

After reaching the front steps of the old, abandoned outpost, head west to see a looping incline. The sword should already be visible during the party’s approach thanks to its shining blade.

Where to find Phalar Aluve in Baldur’s Gate 3

Now, there are a few different ways to pull out this sword. If players have a Cleric of Eilistraee in their party, then they should be the ones taking the blade from the stone. They’ll be able to pull it out without having to do any skill checks or perform any extra actions. Drows will be able to read the inscription on the sword as well, making them prime candidates.

If players have neither a Drow nor an Eilistraee Cleric in their party, then they should use the member withthe highest Strength skill. They’ll need to pass a DC 15 Strength check to pull the sword out. If this isn’t an option either, then have a character with Religious knowledge perform the proper ritual in order to free the blade.

Getting the Phalar Aluve sword in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Phalar Aluve is a +1 MagicLongswordthat deals 1d10 Slashing damage at base when wielded with both hands (1d8 with one hand). It also grants a +1 bonus to attack rolls and Performance checks. Its main draw, however, is its ability to cast either Shriek or Sing. The former debuffs all enemies within six meters, penalizing their Charisma, Intelligence, and Wisdom Saving Throws while making them take 1-4 extra Thunder damage for five turns. The latter instead buffs allies, giving them bonuses to the same stats and giving them a 1d4 bonus to attack rolls.
