Daniel Radcliffeis sharing the story of the man who helped him fly as Harry Potter.
On Wednesday, HBO debuted the trailer for the documentaryDavid Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, about David Holmes, Radcliffe’s stunt person from theHarry Potterfilms.
Holmes was a teen gymnast when he began working in stunts on theHarry Pottermovies and met Radcliffe, now 34, as a child. He worked on each of the eightPottermovies, but an on-set accident while making 2010’sDeathly Hallows: Part 1left Holmes paralyzed.
The trailer opens with Holmes, who has used a wheelchair since the accident, reminiscing on working as a stunt performer. Archival footage shows his skills as a gymnast and him and other stunt performers spending time withHarry Potter’s cast and crew. Clips from the years since shows how the experience affected Holmes.

“This terrible thing happened to Dave, but I don’t want to talk as if his life is a tragedy," Radcliffe says in the trailer. “The way his life has affected the lives of people around him means that it is the furthest thing from that imaginable.”
Holmes calls being Radcliffe’s lead stunt double “the best job in the world,” during the trailer, and Radcliffe adds that Holmes “seemed like a cool older brother” during the productions.

The film features “candid personal footage shot over the last decade, behind-the-scenes material from Holmes’ stunt work, scenes of his current life and intimate interviews with David, Daniel Radcliffe, friends, family and former crew” to share his story, according to the synopsis.
The trailer features snapshots of a number ofPotteractors.Tom Feltonis seen posing with Radcliffe and Holmes in one photo, along withJames and Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright andRupert Grint, as Holmes says he was was “able to find the light in the darkest of places” after his injuries.
