Patch 7.34 reworks draft order in Captain’s Mode

Valve decided to meddle with the prestigious Captain’s Mode - THE game format that the biggest tournaments use. The draft order has been changed from:

To the new draft order:

This here might not be important for average Dota 2 players. But Captain’s Mode is significant for the competitive scene and can impact team drafting performances in the future.

New stat: Slow Resistance

A new stat arrives in Patch 7.34 called the Slow Resistance which “reduces the impact of slows on your hero by a percentage.”

A similar stat to Magic Resistance and Status Resistance, the Slow Resistance stat makes you less affected by spells that slow you down. With the addition of Slow Resistance, Status Resistance no longer affects the impact of slows, only the duration.

With Black King Bar and Magic Immunity nerfed in this new era, spells that slow you down such as Jakiro’s Dual Breath and Lich’s Frost Blast are extremely frustrating to deal with. The Slow Resistance is here to help counter those spells!

Patch 7.34 General changes: Roshan, Outposts, more

Killing Roshan used to switch all Watchers on the map to your side, giving your team plenty of vision. But Patch 7.34 removes that effect. The two Main Jungle Watchers on both Radiant and Dire are moved to different locations. Both Outposts in the Jungle are moved to the triangle of both sides. Scan now also holds two charges.

Item changes in Patch 7.34

One of the biggest item changes is on the Linken’s Sphere. Previously, players can stack their Linken’s Sphere shield to an ally. This causes the ally to be able to dodge multiple spells at once. However, this new update removes the function. Linken’s Sphere can now only be applied one at a time and if you try to stack it, the buff will refresh instead of stack.

Neutral Items

There are a bunch of minor tweaks for neutral items, and most of them are little nerfs here and there. Check the Buff and Nerf list below!

Hero changes in Patch 7.34

A lot of Dota 2 heroes receive tweaks in this new update and some of them change the hero entirely. Here’s a quick look at heroes that got their abilities reworked, Aghanim’s Scepter and Shard reworked, as well as those that underwent massive tweaks.

Invoker is now a Universal hero, Grimstroke is massively buffed and Naga Siren suffered -1 armor. Pretty big deal!
