Marissa Elkins, Miller’s attorney, also issued a statement toRolling Stoneclaiming that they were “never alone with the child and never interacted with the child outside of two brief encounters which occurred in the presence of several other adults.”
She went on to discuss other similar but unrelated allegations made toward the controversial actor, who was arrested last year, saying, “Ezra does not deny that in the midst of their struggle that they have made mistakes and behaved at times in ways they wish they could take back. That, however, does not make every allegation, rumor, or false accusation true.”
Miller’s attorneys did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for a statement.

During the premiere, the actor alluded to their recent legal woes as they addressed attendees at the event.
In particular, Miller acknowledged Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, Warner Bros. Film Group heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy and DC Studios stewards James Gunn and Peter Safran for “your grace and discernment and care in the context of my life. And in bringing this moment to fruition,“according to Variety.
Miller’s troublesdate back to January 2011, when they were arrested and charged with marijuana possession during a routine traffic stop,per TMZ. But it was a video that surfaced online in April 2020 of Miller appearing to choke a woman at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland, that set off the most recent string of controversies.
In January 2022, Miller posted a video in which they appeared to threaten members of a Ku Klux Klan chapter in North Carolina. A couple of months later, he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment over their alleged involvement in two separate incidents at a karaoke bar in Hawaii. Later that same month, two Hilo, Hawaii, residentsfiled for a temporary restraining order against Miller, claiming that they harassed and threatened them.
In April the same year, the actor wasarrested and charged with second-degree assaultafter a traffic stop at a Kea’au, Hawaii, intersection. Then in June, they were accused ofmanipulating and controllinga girl they had met at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota back in 2016. A similar allegation arose within days, with a Massachusetts mother and her preteen daughter being granted a temporary harassment prevention order against Miller, who they said “menaced their family one evening in their downstairs neighbor’s home and acted inappropriately toward” the minor.
On Aug. 15, 2022,Miller publicly addressed their recent troubling behaviorin a statement to PEOPLE. “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller said.
“I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life,” the actor added.
