Croteam makes a cameo in its game
The Talos Principleuses several different modes of storytelling. There are the dictations from the god-like Elohim, the conversations with the Milton Library Assistant, the recordings of a bygone scientist, the QR code messages shared among others engaged in trials, and the collection of old writings found on computer terminals.
The emails, websites, and literature passages found on the computer have bits of faux corruption inserted, made up of hexadecimal code. One industrious player went through the game files to translate all of the hexadecimal and posted the updated text onreddit. The original text is included for context, so beware of spoilers.
Among the translations are more messages that sound like they are from Elohim. There are also a couple cheeky Easter eggs, in which developer Croteam is referenced by characters in the story. One such reference even hints at a potential time period for the mysterious events inThe Talos Principle. Cool.
