The Crew 2byUbisoftjust got an offline mode update, after angering fans by taking down the game’s servers last year. The racing game from Ubisoft Ivory Tower might have been out for seven years, but fans were still devastated when servers for the always-online title were shut down in September 2024. In response to fan outcry, Ubisoft promised players that it would bring an offline mode to the title.
It now looks like Ubisoft plans todeliver on this promise. In an update shared to theUbisoftYouTube channel,The Crew 2Producer Grégory Corgié has addressed some common questions from fans. According to Corgié,The Crew 2offline mode will be ready for release before the end of 2025, withThe Crew: Motorfestto follow suit after.

The Crew 2 Offline Mode Is Coming This Year
It Will Be Missing Some Multiplayer Features
When The Crew 2 was taken offline, it rendered the game unplayable for the many fans who were continuing to enjoy the game, despite being overtaken byMotorfestas the latestThe Crewgame. Unfortunately, this is a common occurance in modern gaming, where many online games can only be played as long as the servers are supported and fans are abandoned after shutdown, which iswhat happened withRed Dead Redemption Online. An offline mode forThe Crew 2would make the game playable again,so players can continue enjoying the game even with the servers being offline.
According to Corgié,offline mode will be missing some of its online functionalities, due to the nature of transforming an online multiplayer game into a first-person experience. Corgié doesn’t expand on what these missing features will be, but a full list will be available whenThe Crew 2offline experiences launches this year.

Ubisoft will be relying on testing and fan feedback for its development of the singleplayer version ofThe Crew 2.The first playtest will begin on April 30and involve a select group of invite-only testers. While testing will be limited to PC in the beginning, the offline version will arrive on all platforms when it’s ready.

Service For The Game Will Continue “For Years To Come”
To prevent the same issue from happening toThe Crew: Motorfestin the future, Ubisoft will also beadding an offline mode to the more recent title, as well. Although the dev team is currently focused on gettingThe Crew 2offline mode out to fans, Corgié reiterates thatMotorfestwill also get an offline mode in the future, even though Ubisoft is “currently focused on the live service and support for the game for years to come.”
