Without a doubt,Immortal Defenseis one of the best tower defense games in existence. It addresses two major concerns people tend to have with the genre: lack of a compelling narrative, and boredom caused by passive sit-back-and-watch mechanics.

Very simply put, the story inImmortal Defenserevolves around you being the first person from your family’s planet to enter pathspace, a dimension where all other levels of space are represented as lines that ships travel across. Since you may see them but they can’t see you, essentially, you are a god. It’s crazy.

And as for the second issue, while there’s still plenty of defense building and what have you, the mouse cursor actually fires when in close proximity to enemies. It’s a simple concept that goes a long way in making sure you aren’t just sitting there, watching the action unfold.

Anyway,Immortal Defensehas gone the pay-whatever route. The minimum is set at $1.75, however, to cover fees associated with online payment and also bandwidth. Alternatively, you could always give the lengthy demo a shot. Either way, Iurge you to playthis ridiculously cool game.
