Groudon is back in Pokémon GO Raids from June 5 until June 14. Groudon is by far one of the strongest Pokémon in the game. It also has an even stronger Primal Evolution.
That means that you should not miss these Raids. As well as the bonuses you can get, grinding Groudon Candy, Candy XL and making sure you have a good IV Groudon in your collection is really valuable in the game. In fact, this Pokémon is so strong that having two or three in your team is genuinely worthwhile.
These Groudon won’t come with its legendary move, Precipice Blades however. So, you’ll need an Elite TM to make the most of this Pokémon.

Groudon has a weakness to Grass, Ice and Water-type attacks.Please note that Groudon has a different typing from Primal Groudon.It also has a resistance to Poison and Rock-type attacks, then a double resistance to Electric-type attacks.

Naturally, Kyogre and Primal Kyogre are great counters for Groudon. The two Pokémon are twins from the Ruby and Sapphire games and will always somewhat go together. Outside of Kyogre, other powerful Mega Pokémon to use include Mega Swampert and Mega Sceptile. Both should be readily avaliable to most Trainers.
If you’ve already attended one of the2025 Pokémon GO Festevents, you might already have access toCrown Shield Zamazenta or Crowned Sword Zacian. These are two amazingly powerful Pokémon and should absolutely be used for this Raid if you have them.

Sunny weather is pretty dangerous when fighting Groudon in Pokémon GO. It will boost all of its attacks. Groudon with Solar Beam is a very tricky fight, as it will harm your Water-type counters.
You might want to take this trade-off if you are in a big group, as your Groudon will be a higher CP at the end of the fight.
Rainy weather might be annoying to be outside in, but it will make a much easier fight against Groudon.
