No more ‘Kill The Faggot’

Congratulations, we have a new winner for most offensive game to appear on Steam Greenlight! Skaldic Games, run by christian game developer Randall Herman, yesterday put a game up on Steam Greenlight calledKill The Faggot. InKill The Faggotyou’re rewarded for shooting gay men and trans women, while being punished for killing straight men.

How could you tell who to kill in the game? Well, gay men wore pink tops and trans women were caricatured men in dresses grasping at their genitals. Kills are rewarded with full screen, slur filled prompts about which minority group you successfully murdered. Killing gay men is worth points. Killing trans women is worth even more points. Killing straight men lowers your score. I wonder why people got offended by its existence?

So, why did the developer make this game?Apparentlyto prove how the world is overly sensitive to LGBT rights.

“I decided to release it on Greenlight to see people’s reactions, The reason behind this particular game is because of how tired I am of people being overly sensitive and how easily offended people are by every little thing, especially with LGBT issues.”

“I didn’t make this game to attack LGBT people personally, and no I don’t hate gays and think they should be treated fairly, but I made this game just to piss off those people that are way too overly sensitive, which includes straight people, These people that think if you are even remotely homophobic, you are ‘hateful’ and a ‘bigot’, and do everything they can to destroy you in every vicious way possible.”

Thankfully, not only was thew game pulled from Greenlight within just a few hours, but multiplevoice actorsandmusicianswho worked for the studio have revoked rights to use of their work. Apparently many were misled about the context their work would be used in.

While the upcoming release ofHatredseems to employ an equal-opportunity stance toward the murder of civilians,Kill The Faggottargeted the murder of a specific minority group that already has to fear a higher rate of murder than the general population. Thankfully, the game was met with almost universal condemnation and has since been pulled from Greenlight.
