With Seasons having gone by the wayside, Episodes have replaced them. As is theDestiny 2way, Episodes are essentially the same thing, but with a different name. Once again, we have a new seasonal storyline that will be drip-fed over the course of several weeks: A Rising Chorus: Act I.

Here’s how to get through the first week of the newDestiny 2episode, without being distracted by the multitude of other activities it opens along the way.

Speak with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. to begin the episode

After completing the introductory mission, it’s time to meet up with Failsafe via the relay Osiris has constructed in the H.E.L.M. This is where my now favorite AI (R.I.P. Rasputin) will live for the next several months while we work to uncover the mystery of Nessus’ sudden change.

There’s a lot to take in, like the disappearance of all the Star Cats I collected, but for now, Failsafe needs us to collect some radiolaria samples in and around the Well of Flame on Nessus. With the Standard Radiolite Sampler in hand, load into The Cistern on Nessus and head west.

Collect Samples on Nessus

After collecting the samples, the Vex will attempt to ambush you. Clear them out and collect the specimen sitting on the ground. This exploratory mission is complete, and it’s time to return to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.

Analyze the Specimens

Failsafe has now opened access to the Radiolite Bay, which is tied to the Specimen ID: NES001 quest. She also gave us the next step in this quest chain: analyzing the encoded log. So, before we get sidetracked like a ghoul wandering the wastes, let’s go back to Nessus.

Encoded Log

We need to go to the Well of Echoes, which is in The Tangle on Nessus. Load in via the Artifact’s Edge landing zone and zip over. Once inside the Well, proceed through the Vex portal and enter the arena below.

This fight has you squaring up against a Vex minotaur with a pesky shield. Scattered about the arena are several Vex cubes. Destroy them while avoiding the exploding Vex units to lower the shield and make the minotaur vulnerable.

Once the Firewall Guardian has been dealt with, there will be a new hole in the ground. Being the immortal adventurous spirit that you are, jump in and find the Vex disturbance: access to the Enigma Protocol activity. Now, we just wait for the next
