The wait is almost over! The NIKKE x Evangelion collaboration is bringing Rei Ayanami and other iconic characters to the game. The event’s name “The Ark Defense Battle: You Can (NOT) Evade” is a clear reference to the Rebuild trilogy:
Shift Up, the game’s developers, announced that this collab is a Limited-Time Recruitment. For this reason, if you want Rei Ayanami, or any of the Evangelion x NIKKE characters, you must do it during the dates released.

After theRebuildmovies (that you’re able to stream today on Netflix), many characters changed their personality. This is also the case for Rei Ayanami, who shows more emotions and feelings for Shinji Ikari. She compromises on trying to fix the relationship between him and his father.
Rei Ayanami is also the pilot of the EVA-00, the first unit acquired by NERV. However, there’s no sign that the mythical EVAs will make an appearance for the Evangelion x NIKKE collab.
Other charactersthat will be part of this collaboration are: Asuka Langley, Mari Makinami, and Misato Katsuragi. Following the trend set by Rei Ayanami, we can expect them to be released with a week time between each announcement. The order of release is not specific, but due to her popularity, it’s most likely that Misato will be the last to be available.
