The return of the fast-firing SMG is imminent.
Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been fully revealed, and some of the content included in the update is a familiar sight to veteran players. Most notably, the iconic PPSh-41 submachine gun is returning in the season. It was last seen in Vanguard, but now makes a reappearance to coincide with the release of The Tomb Zombies map.
Naturally, with how popular the PPSh-41 has become over the years in Call of Duty, many players will want to unlock it as quickly as possible when Season 2 drops. In the guide below, we’ll go over the unlock method for the PPSh-41 in Black Ops 6.

Fortunately, the PPSh-41 is unlocked like so many other weapons that have dropped in the past. As it’s coming at the start ofSeason 2, the SMG will be available on the Battle Pass as a free tier reward. This means you don’t have to purchase the premium or BlackCell version of the Battle Pass to unlock the weapon. However, if you want to unlock the PPSh-41 straight away, purchasing the BlackCell Battle Pass does grant you 25 tier skips that you may use to unlock the gun immediately.
On the Battle Pass, the PPSh-41 is located on page six as the HVT reward. The HVT reward refers to the large tier that you’re able to only unlock after earning all the smaller tiers before it on the page. There’s also a weapon blueprint for the PPSh-41 on page 14 of the Battle Pass.

To reach page six, you’ll likely need to unlock roughly 25 tiers, which is why the BlackCell Battle Pass comes in so clutch if you want the PPSh-41 as soon as possible. Of course, the BlackCell version costs $30, so it’s certainly a decision you have to weigh according to your own situation.
In addition to unlocking the PPSh-41 on the Battle Pass, you’re able to also purchase a store bundle for the weapon. Either at the launch of Season 2 or shortly after it, the store will include a bundle that contains a blueprint for the PPSh-41. The bundle’s cost is currently unknown, but you can expect it to cost around 2,000 COD Points.

Aside from that, there’s no other way to unlock the PPSh-41 in Black Ops 6. Season 2 launches on Jan. 28.
