There are a lot of things to unpack in this music video.

The anthem for the League of Legends 2024 World Championship (LoL Worlds 2024) has finally been released! It is titled “Heavy is the Crown,” featuring Linkin Park. As always, the Worlds 2024 song’s music video has a lot of references for LoL fans. Here’s every Easter egg we could find in the Heavy is the Crown music video.

Heavy is the Crown: All player references and Easter eggs

The following players are on the tapestry in the first few seconds of the music video. The order of their listing is left to right and top to bottom, mostly. We’ll discuss thehowof their depictions later in this article.

Then, the five T1 players are depicted lifting the trophy, each wearing the armor that they have for the rest of the music video.

T1 is once again shown inside the castle. Coaches Roach (carrying Azir’s scepter) and Kkoma (with the Crown) walk up.

Next, we have the players who are challenging the castle:

Finally, the T1 players go to defend the castle in full battle regalia:

Since not a lot of teams were featured in the music video, Riot Games made sure everyone was still recognized. The wide shot of the landscape has banners for all of the regions:

G2 Esports reveals new look for Worlds 2024 jersey

G2 Esports unveils a fresh, patterned white Worlds 2024 jersey with a stylish polo collar, offering a modern twist on their classic look.

Easter Eggs and references to LoL Esports moments

We go back to the tapestry for this one. Despite having little screentime, the plays depicted in the banner are very important in T1’s 2023 win. All three are game-winning moments from the respective game.

The first is LNG. Oner’s Rell is depicted galloping from the side with T1’s flag onto LNG’s territory. He’s shown leaping onto two distinct foot soldiers, one with a weapon that vaguely looks like the Energy Sword from Halo. That weapon is Calibrum, better known as Aphelios' green gun. The moment being shown here is the game-winning engage from Oner against GALA and Zika in Game 2 of the Worlds 2023 quarterfinals.

Next is JD Gaming. We’ve all seen the Faker Azir flash-ultimate onto Ruler’s Varus in Game 3 of the T1 vs JDG semifinals. That’s the moment being shown in this Heavy is the Crown frame.

The final one for the tapestry: Zeus' Aatrox against four. This was the final nail in the coffin for Weibo Gaming in Game 3 of the Worlds 2023 grand final. Zeus was in top lane before he was quickly jumped by the entirety of Weibo Gaming sans Light’s Varus. He survived the onslaught, T1 arrived and routed the enemy. Minutes later, WBG’s Nexus explodes and T1 lifts the Worlds trophy.

During the fight in the castle courtyard, Oner’s Viego briefly gets defeated before he shakes off his armor and turns into Lee Sin. This is a reference to his picks in the past two Worlds finals. In the final game against DRX in Worlds 2022 finals, Oner lost on Viego. Last year, he was on Lee Sin when they completed the sweep against Weibo Gaming.

A sweet moment between T1’s bottom lane duo was also shown in the Heavy is the Crown music video as a reference. After Gumayusi’s Xayah gets hooked by Keria’s Nautilus, the two hug similarly as they did after winning last year’s Worlds.

One more blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment happens during Faker’s walkout. As he steps out of the castle, he takes off his cape. There are a few frames where the image of Azir is overlaid on him. There is Korean text right next to Azir’s head that references Faker’s famed quote: “All roads lead to me.”
