If your goal is to finish Mermaid Treasures, collecting pickaxes from banner events and tournaments is the way to go. Every event gives around 200-300 pickaxes if you complete every milestone tier, allowing you to advance through several treasure grids with zero issues. However, the challenge comes from obtaining every reward. Fortunately, even the first few milestones give you some pickaxes, giving you a chance to complete one or two levels. That way, you can use your Treasures rewards to advance further in other events and snowball your progress.

Another method of obtaining pickaxes is completing your three daily Quick Win tasks. These usually range from passing go to collecting stickers. They change daily, and each one gives around two pickaxes.
While this isn’t nearly as much as events and tournaments, it’s a quick and easy way to get extras for those last few treasures. Completing all three Quick Wins during Mermaid Treasures gives you dozens of pickaxes overall, which is often enough to get you through one or two levels.

The last method to getting pickaxes is redeeming free shop gifts. You’ll receive a gift every eight hours, each rewarding around two to three pickaxes. These alone won’t complete the event for you, but they can make a difference between finishing a level and being one pickaxe short.
