NiKo leaves G2, finally joins Falcons

NiKo has completed his move to Falcons.

Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and G2 have officially parted ways on Jan. 3. The move marks the end of NiKo’s era in G2 after four years and six LAN trophies.

G2’s CEO Alban “Stilgar” Dechelotte had already confirmed in October that NiKo would leave the team ahead of the 2025 CS2 season, so fans knew for a while. G2 announced NiKo’s departure minutes before Falcons announced the arrival of the Bosnian star.

In Falcons, NiKo will team up with the four-time Major champion Emil “Magisk” Reif and the five-time Major champion Danny “⁠zonic⁠” Sørensen, who serves as the head coach.

Should everything go to plan, Falcons will have NiKo, Magisk, Damjan “⁠kyxsan⁠” Stoilkovski, René “⁠TeSeS⁠” Madsen, and Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov for 2025 asFalcons is negotiating with the HEROIC trio.This move would make Falcons secure the eighth place in theValve Ranking.

Although NiKo remains the best player to have never won a Major, his stint with G2 was nothing but successful.

After all, the Bosnian star helped G2 to win the BLAST Premier World Final 2022, the coveted IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne in 2023, and IEM Dallas, BLAST Premier Fall Final, and BLAST Premier World Final in 2024. So, all in all, G2 should have a strong roster in 2025 despite the departure of the Bosnian star, who is undoubtedly one of the best Counter-Strike players ever.
