This rework represents a significant change to the damage hero’s playstyle. Stealth, now with a limited duration, results in windows of vulnerability. Therefore, sneaking around the opposing team’s backline requires more finesse — similar to other flankers.

Meanwhile, Stealth movement speed is no longer removed upon taking damage. This makes it more useful as an escape tool. Another interesting part of the Overwatch 2 Season 13 Sombra rework is that Hack no longer ends Stealth. However, it does reveal her.

Opportunist returns in Overwatch 2 Sombra rework
Season 13 also sees the return of her Opportunist passive. This passive increases Sombra’s weapon damage against hacked targets by 20%. It also allows Sombra to see critically injured opponents through walls, enabling her to chase down enemies or ping foes more easily.
These Sombra changes were hinted at prior to Overwatch 2 Season 13. Back in September 2024, lead gameplay designer Alec Dawson wrote, “Sombra has been a hot topic lately and we’re looking at some changes to her Stealth duration, among other things.”
