Overwatch 2 Stadium crossplay may arrive with unranked mode. Blizzard also plans to add a way for players to share their Stadium builds.
Overwatch 2 Stadium crossplay may allow friends on different devices to group up and play together, according to Blizzard Entertainment. This reveal arrived in the game’s latest director’s blog. In addition to detailing what’s coming up in Seasons 17, 18, 19, and beyond, Blizzard Entertainment hinted at plans to allow PC and console players to group up.

The Overwatch 2 team is exploring an unranked version of the Stadium game mode, which would let friends play together. This could also lead to other changes such as a best-of-five (Bo5) format. Currently, Stadium only has the best-of-seven (Bo7) format where the first team to win four maps claims the match victory.
In terms of the current lack of crossplay in Overwatch 2 Stadium, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that since the game mode follows the core competitive rules, PC and console players cannot team up.
“You’ve also made your voices heard on a topic that’s very important to all of us: CrossPlay!” the post stated. “Since Stadium has a competitive system, it follows the rules of our core competitive mode, which doesn’t allow PC and Console players to group. Since this is the only way to play the mode, we agree, and we’d like to do something about it.”

Sharing Overwatch 2 Stadium builds
Another notable feature that’s on the horizon is the ability to share and saveStadium builds. The director’s blog confirmed that this will arrive in Overwatch 2 Season 17.
“This will not only allow players to put together builds outside of a Stadium match and then select them inside a match, it will also allow players to select from community builds as well,” the post stated.
Saving and sharing builds isn’t new for Blizzard Entertainment. InHearthstone, players have been sharing their deck codes for years. However, it would be interesting to see Overwatch 2’s take on this feature.
