“Shocking, isn’t it?”

WithPokémonnow twenty years old (I’m older every day, enjoy your youth kids!), the newest, and 20th, movie celebrates by going back to anime series roots. As this first trailer showcases (in Japanese), this film is a retelling of Ash and Pikachu’s trials during the first couple of episodes in the anime series.

There’s plenty of Jerkachu, the Sparrow incident, and even a fancier version of Ash’s Ho-Oh sighting. Just seeing all of this nostalgic stuff through a new lens is enough to hook me, and I’m sure it’s going to be great for the kids who’ve never seen the early episodes of the series.
