Successful Dealing with Cheats in Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft has been making strides in dealing with cheaters. Year 9 Season 3 was a significant step forward for the game with cheats being down for nearly an entire week, the latest blogpost reveals. There has been a steady wave of bans which have been extremely helpful in dealing with cheats in the FPS title.

Dealing with cheats is always an ongoing task and cheaters will always find ways to circumvent the system. However, Ubisoft has demonstrated its capability to deal with cheaters and eradicate them from the game regularly.

Reputation System Refresh Y9S4

There’s a complete refresh to the Reputation System that forms a part of the game’s anti-toxicity push. The refresh is a part of the game’s push to do less but do it better in dealing with toxicity in the game.

The focus of this system is to fulfil and stay true to our core pillars: transparency, understandability, and clarity.

How does it work?

The blogpost says the new update will look for negativity first and positivity next. This will ensure that negative players are noticeable first. Toxicity will lead to a negative standing. On the other hand, players that have a positive behavior with the occasional negative output will receive a Standing of Exemplary tag. To further clarify the situations where a player might drop from a Standing of Exemplary to a Negative standing, Ubisoft has outlined a few situations.

This new system is still in beta and will leave the beta phase only after Y9S4. At the time of writing, there is no set date for the system to leave the beta phase.

The developers have also made their nickname acceptance policy much more robust. As a result of their actions, nearly 12% of all nicknames were removed from the game.
