Some legends never die, they just run away for a bit. If you’ve followed Overwatch esports for any amount of time then you’ve heard ofRunaway, the prolific and short-lived Korean supersquad. Taking eight overall wins and seven runner-up medals in the Korean APEX division that predated the Overwatch League, the squad became a sensation. So much so that the then-nascent Vancouver Titans would pick up the entire squad as its first roster. Well, buckle up: Runaway is heading for theOverwatch Champions Series.
Legendary Overwatch org RunAway closes its doors
Throughout five years in the game, the org captured the hearts of many and saw multiple roster iterations ascend to the Overwatch League. But with Tier 2 OW slowly dying and their results dipping, RunAway’s journey is over.

With the OWCS' more free-form format, a number of dream teams appear to be forming before the roster lock at the end of the month. This includes thenew-look Toronto Defiant from NAandFTG Gaming in Korea. However, if Runaway has anything to say about it, their new roster may just run away with the Overwatch Champions Series crown.

The Runaway Overwatch Champions Series roster is a mix of familiar faces, proven winners, and outright raw talent. The coaching staff includes Kim “Chara” Jung-yeon, last with the Infernal, and OG Runaway founder Dae-hoon"Runner"Yoon.
Runner has had an eye for talent multiple times in the past. Will lightning strike once more? We’ll have to wait and see once the Overwatch Champions Series begins play next month.
