Arc World Tour 2024 includes only Platinum qualifiers for UNI2, and the tournament at Evo is one of them.
Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes], or UNI2, has a reputation of a well-balanced game, featuring a great variety of character archetypes with effective offensive and defensive tools. When a discussion arose in the fighting games community (FGC) about the shift towards aggressive offense in certain new games, some prominent personalities openly recommended playing UNI2 to feel the proper balance. We’ll be able to see how many people took this advice seriously and practiced enough to play at the UNI2 Evo 2024 tournament.
Under Night has its dedicated community, and this opportunity to see the game in the main Evo lineup is exciting. In addition to this, Evo 2024 UNI2 is an Arc World Tour 2024 qualifier, and a demo of a new character is playable at the event. All in all, we have a great celebration of the Under Night In-Birth series and the people who play it.

UNI2 results at Evo 2024
A great thing about this tournament (and this game) is that the top players brought unique characters to the final bracket. The meta is nicely balanced, with lots of opportunities to find the best fighting archetype specifically for you.
Senaru played Eltnum, a versatile character, with a nice range of options. He effectively unleashed the rushdown style, applying constant pressure on his opponents. In the semi-final, Senaru faced Oushuu-Hittou and his Seth. This character has quick and tricky movement, trying to find an opening and then deliver his amazingly high damage. It worked in some moments against Senaru, but Seth is glass cannon, so when he gets a hit, he’s quickly close to KO.
In the winners final and grand final of the UNI2 Evo 2024 tournament, Senaru played against Kuon of Mo.Sin, a new character in the series. It’s a zoner, with many ranged tools and the flying ability to try and escape pressure.
It felt like M.Sin started to adapt to his opponent only in the second half of the grand final. He delivered great games, including a perfect round, and took the fight to the decisive round. Senaru did not let the bracket reset to happen.
Senaru is a UNI2 Evo 2022 champion. Congratulations!

The Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes] matches start on the first day of Evo. There will be five rounds to determine one champion out of 787 attendees.
