Wuthering Waves 1.2 is the next big update comprising new Resonators, weapons, events, quality-of-life (QoL) changes, and more! Check out the complete overview of what’s coming in Wuthering Waves 1.2 below including its release date and maintenance hours.
Wuthering Waves 1.2 release date and maintenance hours
The release date of the Wuthering Waves 1.2 update is August 15th, 2024.
As usual, there will be a window of “update maintenance” throughout which Kuro Games implements the new changes in Wuthering Waves. During this maintenance time, players cannot access the game. On August 15th,Wuthering Waves' maintenance time will span 7 hours from06:00 (UTC+8) to 13:00 (UTC+8). Here are the maintenance time for other timezones:
New Resonator: Zhezhi
Zhezhi is a 5-Star Glaciowho wields a Rectifier as her weapon. Her spell kit has yet to be revealed. From what Kuro Games has shown, Zhezi is a painter who combines her artistic skills with combat prowess. She will be the first-phase character in the 1.2 update. Her banner, or convene, is called “Chromatic Prose” and it has Chixia, Baizhi, and Sanhua as the rank-up Resonators. You can watchZhezhi’s Resonator showcasebelow!
Her featured weapon is the5-star Rime-Draped Sprouts. Zhezhi’s weapon banner will rank up these other 4-star weapons: Dauntless Evernight, Jinzhou Keeper, and Hollow Mirage.
New Resonator: Xiangli Yao
Next isXiangli Yao, a5-star Electro Supportwho uses Gauntlet-type weapons. His spell kit is also not yet disclosed but his ability and character design flaunts a heavy sci-fi theme with his cyborg-like equipment and digital expertise.
His featured weapon is the5-star Verity’s Handle. On Xiangli Yao’s weapon banner, the rank-up weapons are Marcato, Helios Cleaver, and Novaburst.
Xiangli Yao will have his dedicated banner “Celestial Revelation” where other Resonators ranked up are Danjin, Aalto, and Yuanwu. But most excitingly, there is a way to obtain him for free!

Kuro Games smashes it again with their generosity, allowing players to get Xiangli Yao without pulling on his banner. In the second half of Wuthering Waves 1.2, you can partake in theBy Moon’s Gracespecial event andcollect enough popularity points to unlock Xiangli Yao for free.
Wuthering Waves 1.2: New Companion Quest
Zhezhi will have her own Companion QuestcalledTrue Colors. In this quest, we can get to know the new Resonator better including her lore, persona, and combat style.
New events in the Wuthering Waves 1.2 update
Touted as the main Wuthering Waves 1.2 update event, By Moon’s Grace will gather players to celebrate the Moon-Chase Festival in Huanglong. In the second half of 1.2, you can alsoparticipate in the “By Moon’s Grace” event and accumulate enough popularity points to grab Xiangli Yao for free!

This is a 7-day login event that rewards you with a total of 5 Radiant Tides and 5 Lustrous Tides.
This event features Encore at the center of the story, as you help her defend towers from Tacet Discords. This event allows you to enjoy the challenge with your friends in co-op mode. Completing this event can earn you plenty of rewards including Astrites and Premium Sealed Tubes.
A new version of the Depths of Illusive Realm will arrive with new challenges and rewards. There will be new content with the name “Carnival in Slumberland”. You will be able to select the new Phantom Echo: Dreamless and Metaphors.
This battle challenge event arrives for the second time, bringing new layers of challenges and rewards. Head to a special Sonoro Sphere and clash for rewards like Premium Resonance Potion and Astrites.
This event rewards eligible returning players to welcome them back into the game. Those who haven’t logged in 30 or more consecutive days are encouraged to return to collect daily check-in rewards or tasks.
QoL changes
Certain events require shooting which may be difficult for players without pistol shooters in their squad. With this new Hoverdroid addition, you no longer have to swap Resonators to complete shooting challenges.
A new camera option is also available to ensure a better experience and perspective during battles and challenges.
you’re able to now select up to 3 different Resonators to have their pull animation (or Convene Scenes) portrayed on your profile!
PC players can now play Wuthering Waves 1.2 at a whopping 120 FPS!
A new Waveplate storage system will also arrive in Wuthering Waves 1.2! Those who reached the 240 Waveplate cap will now generate 12 Waveplate Crystals per minute. These can then be exchanged into Waveplates.
